Finance Manager (Finances / CPA / Budgets / Reviews) – West Africa

Responsibilities:
- Proactive engagement with various stakeholders to help analyze costs, optimize costs and improve OEE, including but not limited to: mining cost control, rail cost control, cost control port
- Compile cost data for the preparation of annual budgets, including estimates of standard cost increases for the following year
- Assist in calculating cost savings for the budget and measuring actual savings
- Analyze variance accounts each month and prepare reports
- Coordinate the various departmental and external contributions and make the necessary financial adjustments to ensure a solid and coherent process is in place
- Support the development of effective business relationships between finance staff and service professionals
- Actively contribute to site security policy and new initiatives and implement changes as directed by the CEO
- Develop and maintain a departmental structure that adheres to company policies, enables teamwork and personal development.
- Ensure that training and coaching is provided to all department employees, with particular attention to national and local employees.
- Review capital requirements for service elements to achieve long-term corporate goals
- Key business challenges to address and drive: with resources and systems available to ensure effective financial estimation, management of scheduled financial audits and reviews, successful development and implementation of the annual budget, ensuring compliance compliance issues.
Requirements: Qualification and competence
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, an additional management qualification advantageous
- Accountant
- At least 10 years of relevant experience including at least 5 years in a management position
- Previous experience in a remote location in Africa
- Committed to training nationals
